要旨・内容

方言に興味をもった学生による有志団体を結成し、方言の知名度の向上や若者と高齢層の意思疎通を図ることを目標・目的として活動を行い、方言アプリケーションの作成、各イベントに参加し、方言アプリケーションの展示、アンケート調査等を行い、南部方言の調査や方言の普及活動を行った。その結果として、若者(子供)に興味をもってもらうことができ、目標に一歩近づくことができたといえる。若者が方言に興味を持ち方言を理解すること、高齢層が方言を方言であると認識し、標準語を理解することのどちらが良いのかについても意見が分かれると思うが、我々は、方言という伝統ある文化を大事にし、残すことを選択したいと考えた。

要旨・内容 (英語)

A volunteer group of students with an interest in dialects was created. The research goals were to increase the awareness of dialects and to facilitate communication between the young and the elderly. The researchers investigated southern Japanese dialects and sought to support them through the creation and demonstration of dialect applications, event participation, and surveys. The researchers were successful in fostering interest in dialects among young people and are one step closer to achieving their goal. Opinions are divided as to whether young people should understand and maintain an interest in dialects, or whether the elderly should understand standard Japanese and recognize a dialect as a dialect . The researchers believe that as a part of traditional culture, dialects should be treated with respect and preserved.
