要旨・内容

南部方言のアンケート調査を主に若者を対象に実施し、その結果、東北地方では認知度が高く、理解度が低いこと、他県では認知度が低いということが挙げられた。しかし、シャッコイ、ナゲルなどのメディアなどで取り上げられたことのある全国的に有名になりつつある言葉は、使わないが意味を知っているという形で認識されることが分かった。また、東北地方での方言理解度を向上させるためには南部方言と共通語の違いを周知する必要があると考えられる。このアンケートを回答することにより他県での南部方言認知度が上がると共に東北地方では方言として理解度が上がれば、地方方言の衰退が緩和出来るのではないかと考えられる。

要旨・内容 (英語)

A questionnaire survey of mainly young people regarding the Southern Regional Dialect was conducted. The results indicate that the Southern Regional Dialect was well-known in the Northeast (Tohoku) Region of Japan but was poorly understood there, and that it was little-known in other prefectures. However, the respondents indicated that although they did not use words such as shakkoi and nageru, which have become well-known throughout the country from appearing in the mass media, they were able to understand them. This suggests that in order to improve the degree to which the dialect can be understood in the Tohoku Region, it is necessary to inform people of the differences in the meanings of words of the Southern Regional Dialect. If the responses obtained in this questionnaire survey can be used to increase awareness for the Southern Regional Dialect in other prefectures and its comprehension the Tohoku Region, it may mitigate the decline of regional dialects.
