要旨・内容

八戸藩領にて1754年に積雪下に麦腐敗の記録を見出した．この記録は，青森県で最古のものである．盛岡藩の南部では水田裏作としての麦栽培は重要であるが，盛岡藩北部から八戸藩ではその重要性が低下し，七戸藩十和田では，救荒作物としての稗・蕎麦あるいは換金性の高い大豆に変化した．1754年の記録した八戸・軽米の医師，富阪凉仙は越前で生まれで，京で学んだ父を通じて西日本における水田裏作としての麦栽培の重要性を認識し，これまで記録されていない記述を残したと判断した．

要旨・内容 (英語)

Winter damages presumed snow molds was recorded in Hachinohe Domain on winter barely or wheat in 1754. Winter barley or wheat were important as second crops in a paddy field in the southern part of Morioka Domain. However, an economical importance of these crops decreased in the northern part of Morioka and Hachinohe Domains, and barley and wheat productions were changed to Japanese millet, buckwheat as famine foods and soybeans as a monopoly crops in Towada, Shichnohe Domain. Ryosen Tomisaka who was medical doctor in Hachinohe and Karumai recorded winter damages in 1754. His father was born in Echizen and educated in Kyoto, therefore they probably recognized the economical impotence of winter barley production in a paddy field and Ryosen described these records.
