内容紹介：
今後25年の間にわが国の地方自治体の多くが，人口の減少によって存続できなくなると言われている．青森県八戸市も例外ではなく，人口流出を防ぐ新たな施策が求められている．筆者は，このような地域社会の未来予測を受け，八戸工業大学感性デザイン学科にて，地域志向のデザインマインドを育成する教育プログラムづくりに取り組んでいる．この教育プログラムの一環でおこなっているのが2年生前期のビジュアルデザイン演習IIで実施している「八幡馬のリデザイン」である．八幡馬は，戦国時代に馬産地であった青森県八戸市を含む南部地方に伝わる郷土玩具である．地元には八幡馬を祀る櫛引八幡宮もあり，地域経済を支えてきた馬への信仰文化の名残を現在も見ることができる．授業では，八幡馬を題材にすることで，こうした地域の歴史や文化の背景（以下，コンテキスト）を知り，その現代的な価値を視覚表現するデザイン活動をおこなう．この一連のデザイン活動を通して，地域に埋もれたデザイン資源を見い出す力を養いたいと考えている．本稿では，授業の一連のプロセスを概説し，地域志向のデザインマインド育成につながる教育アプローチについて考察する．

ABSTRACT：
Many of Japan’s local governments over the next 25 years, are said to be disappeared by a reduction in the population. Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture is no exception, and this city is also required to prevent the population outflow. Receive a future prediction of such a community, I have implemented a training program to develop of the community-oriented design mind in the Department of KANSEI design at Hachinohe Institute of Technology.
Are doing as part of this education program is “redesigning of YAWATA-UMA”. It is a local toy of Hachinohe, throughout this design activities, I hope to cultivate the power to find a regional design resources. In this paper, outlined this class, consider the education approach
that leads to development of the community-oriented design mind.
